At Southwinds, your family can count on care for those in need of assisted living or communal living.  Licensed by DHEC, all on one floor, having all security alarms and protections required, and just minutes from Wateree Medical Complex in Lugoff, Southwinds provides gentle and warm attention to your family members in need of help with personal tasks.  The caregivers here become knowledgeable about your mom, dad, or other relative whom you entrust to our care, so that you have at least some freedom from worry.  

Choose an apartment with a private deck or a private room with a private bath. Golf, shopping, and restaurants are close by in Camden and Lugoff, South Carolina.  Three meals a day and assistance with dressing, bathing, and medications are just a few of the services offered.

Breakfast in the warm and cheerful breakfast room is a stimulating beginning to a day of being loved and feeling safe. Newly decorated, clean and pretty, this breakfast room is where your mom or dad will have nourishing meals.   Breakfast can be delivered to private quarters, as well, when aches and pains are a little too uncomfortable.  Our staff takes the time to be sure that meals aren't hurried and that appetites a coaxed so that the best possible health is maintained.  Recreational, social, or religious activities are planned for each day.

In our warm climate, while you're working hard, taking care of your children, or working as a valuable member of your community, your mom or dad can have lunch with friends under Sable Palms by the pool, read in the shade of the gazebo, have a nap in the 8-acre fenced estate, or hop into the whirlpool by the side of the swimming pool -- even play tennis with a tennis court right on the premises. 

The pool is fenced high and well for safety, and swimming activities are authorized by the responsible family member, however, a member of the staff supervises swimming so you can be reassured that your loved ones are safe. In this picture, you can see our gazebo.  Casual and comfortable seating is provided for reading, chatting, remembering.

 Experienced caregivers are interested in providing a casual homelike atmosphere that is clean, but not clinical, cheerful, but not unduly "perky," and always respectful of the person who has chosen to share the estate and the lovely grounds. The private rooms are truly private with bathrooms having private entrance to the bedroom. 

Space is put aside for landscaping and gardens for the residents to use and enjoy.  Part of the 8 acre estate will be prepared for spring gardening -- little vegetable and flower plots -- so residents can grow their favorites. 

After a day of visiting, dinner is taken in the dining room.  It is warm and friendly, comfortable and cozy, with coffered ceiling, substantial furniture, and soft carpets.  As you can see by the size of the dining table, this is a small, intimate, family setting.  We will take only five residents to begin with, and then add others as we complete our renovations of another cottage.  That cottage will be home for independent residents.  Parking is provided for the residents of those cottages. 

The facility is staffed 24 hours each day. Our rates are very reasonable, and we welcome your inquiry about our space, our programs, meals, and availability of accommodations.
